In a twist no one saw coming, Del Taco has officially been voted the best fast food chain in the U.S. — for the second year running.

According to the 2025 USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards, Del Taco came out on top for the second year in a row, beating out big names ike Chick-fil-A, Jack in the Box, A&W, and Wendy’s. 

It speaks for itself that Del Taco’s reign isn’t just a fluke — it’s a full-blown era.

But let’s not forget that the Georgia-based Chick-fil-A still comes to a close win when it comes to customer satisfaction, holding that title for now, 11 straight years. But what happened when the people voted back in 2024? They went for Dell Taco.

There’s no denying that Dell Taco is crowned the best fast food chain in the entire country. And while Chick-fil-a will always have a place in many people’s hearts, this win isn’t exactly shocking.

According to USA Today, Del Taco has built its rep on fresh flavors, solid prices, and a menu that truly does the most.

Fans especially love the chain’s wide variety, especially the tacos, burritos, nachos, plus burgers and fries (for the picky eaters out there).

And Del Taco offers their full breakfast menu with burritos and donut bites, including a special vegan and vegetarian menu that makes it easy for everyone to order from sunrise to midnight. The chain was also voted as runner up for the best fast food breakfast and best fast food fries. Translation?

This place seriously gets it. From crispy fries to a breakfast menu that actually satisfies customers, it’s giving “something for everyone” energy. Clearly, the hype is real — and the fan loyalty makes perfect sense. 

Coming in at a close second, Jack in the Box received favorable reviews not only for its burgers, but for its fan-favorite tacos.

A&W landed the #3 spot, thanks to its classic burgers, crispy chicken tenders, and the iconic cheese curds. Readers also showed major love for the dessert menu which includes everything from creamy shakes to hot caramel fudge sundaes — not to mention the legendary root beer floats made with their signature brew.

And the chain to hit the fourth spot was Chick-fil-a, earning strong marks as a fast food staple with its craveable chicken sandwiches, lemonade, and waffle fries that never miss.
