Earle’s Opens New Location In Venice Beach Next To Beloved Burger Spot

Located in South Los Angeles off of Crenshaw, Earle’s has become a very notable restaurant. It was started by Brothers Duane and Cary Earle, who originally came from New York. After finishing college, they moved to California to pursue careers in engineering and music.

With a desire to pay homage to their New York roots, Cary decided to use his engineering skills to build a hot dog Cart, while Duane used his marketing skills to get people to come and try their hot dogs.

Soon, by 1986, they served hot dogs from a cart out by Venice Beach. They also served hot dogs in front of clubs and other popular places in Venice Beach.

“Little did we know that the hot dog cart would become a pillar of the community. We’re known for splitting and grilling over an open flame, the only way, the best way,” Duane said.

Venice Beach became a well-known Black neighborhood before Crenshaw, where they soon relocated in 1992, where they remained for 16 years. This hot dog place has been operating for over eight years and plans to move.

Leimert Park has a sign announcing the move. At the Venice Beach boardwalk, a new Earle’s will be located right next to Marathon Burgers. Earle’s has been located in Crenshaw Square since 2017, and it easily became a staple.

People will refer to it as Earle’s on Crenshaw. They received more notoriety after making deliveries to elderly people and hospitals during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

The restaurant has no seats inside, only standing rails to dine outside the restaurant. Like regular fast food chains, they take over-the-counter orders, or you can take them to go. Its extensive menu includes various dishes, including turkey chili and vegan options. With this, it’s still one of the busiest establishments.

“I love their players punch and the chili cheese dogs I’ve been going there for more than 20 years.” said a comment on TikTok.

“ I’ma come down the hill for this. We went to church off of Adams in Arlington for several years and I remember testimony service mentioning how good your food always was and it was a blessing. How cool to see this now.” said Dynasty Woods on TikTok.

With the move’s announcement, many people are excited and have much to anticipate.
