Chick-Fil-A Expands Menu With ‘Nostalgic’ New Items

Much like the Cheesecake Factory’s menu changes or the new ideas coming from Buffalo Wild Wings, Chick-fil-A, the Texas chicken chain, has introduced some new ideas of its own. 

USA Today reported on the new items that were introduced to the public for consumption. According to statements to Southern Living from Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging for Chick-Fil-A, “As we thought about the year of ‘Newstalgia’, we really thought about what menu items do customers long for and want from us that are also nostalgic.” 

She elaborated further on the new additions, “Both Chicken & Waffles and S’mores are much-loved classics, and we challenged ourselves to bring those flavors to our menu.”

A chicken and waffles sandwich is certainly a must-have for any Chick-fil-A fan. The two pieces of delicious waffles have the syrup baked in, not unlike McDonald’s McGriddle. The waffles hold a crispy piece of chicken, a combination sure to tantalize anyone’s taste buds. If all that isn’t enough, they add some applewood bacon and honey butter for an unforgettable experience.

The chicken and waffles come in two sizes: a breakfast sandwich and a larger, more filling menu item. The chicken can be ordered grilled, spicy, or original, just like always. If that isn’t sweet enough for you, there is the S’mores milkshake available to really scratch that sweet itch. Yes, in addition to the greatness of chicken and waffles, there is also the flavor of S’mores in their milkshakes and frosted coffee. 

It starts with Chick-fil-A’s standard ice cream dessert combined with a marshmallow-flavored syrup. From there, chocolate shortbread and graham cracker crumbles are added, helping to add to the deliciousness and vibes of the sweet treat. 

To really knock the campfire S’mores experience out of the park, a delectable marshmallow whipped topping is added. Whenever we crave that childhood nostalgia, we can order this incredible drink to take us back to the past. Or, for the people who are fans of coffee, Chick-Fil-A also has the S’mores frosted coffee available for purchase. 

It is similar to the delicious milkshake that was described above, but adds some cold brew coffee to the mix. This makes it a treat with some caffeine to really get your day started the sweet, and, right away. 

You can get all these flavors since their official release on Monday, August 24. Since there’s a restaurant near me, I can see my family picking up a chicken waffle sandwich with a S’mores milkshake to go with it.
