Halle Berry Raves Over James Bond Co-Star Pierce Brosnan

Nice guys don’t always finish last it seems. Actress Halle Berry recently gushed about her experience on set with her former co-star, Pierce Brosnan.

The two mega stars appeared on screen together in 2002 in the James Bond movie Die Another Day. Halle Berry played the character Jinx against Brosnan’s James Bond. After she experienced the breakdown of her marriage, she tells Wired in a video interview that Pierce Brosnan was picture-perfect regarding his manners.

“He will always be my Bond, always. I’m a Pierce Brosnan fan,” Halle Berry said. “He restored my faith in men on that movie. There couldn’t be a human who is more of a gentleman than Pierce Brosnan.”

The iconic film collection of James Bond goes back more than six decades ago, with the first installment, Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as the title character, also known fondly in pop culture as “Double 0-7.” Known for it’s handsome leading men who have played the part of 007 throughout the years, the movies are a masterclass in adventure, danger, action, style and sex appeal.

Bond is a British Secret Agent working undercover for the Secret Intelligence Service, using the codename ‘007.’ Written by novelist Ian Fleming in the 1950s, the character is always dressed impeccably, oozing with confidence and remains stoic in the face of danger.

One to always adapt with the times, the character of James Bond has been portrayed by multiple actors throughout the decades. Sean Connery, the original Bond, played the role five times. George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton followed and Pierce Brosnan, took on the suit and tie four times before handing the role to Daniel Craig in 2006.

There are many famous lines in many famous movies, but few are more legendary than Bond’s most infamous introduction line, “The name’s Bond, James Bond.” The slick line came from Connery’s portrayal of the secret agent as he casually lit a cigarette. Another fan favorite and easily recited by memory is a cornerstone of the franchise, “A Martini. Shaken, not stirred.” Ironically, that line was not first delivered by the movie’s star rather the villain in Goldfinger. Later, Bond took it over for himself and the rest is cinematic history.

According to Forbes, collectively, the Bond franchise has brought in big bucks for Hollywood with Skyfall bringing in the biggest gross over $1.1 dollars, Casino Royale, the first novel written of the series brought in $595 million and the Berry and Brosnan team in Die Another Day brought in $432 million. Berry revealed to Variety that she felt “honored” to be a part of the Bond franchise.

“Bond wasn’t on my wish list, no, not to be in one, but I loved the movies, always,” Berry told the news outlet. “Having been in one, I feel like I’m a part of cinematic history. … Those movies are iconic. They will forever be a part of our history, and I’m really honored to have been a part of one, especially with Pierce.”

Besides the brave men and beauties, the Bond legacy also showcased incredible vehicles that practically star in the films as well. Specifically, an Aston Martin DB5, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar XJ8, and a Sunbeam Alpine along with a Rolls-Royce Phantom III all caught the eye of the viewer.
