Taraji P. Henson and Curtis “50 Cent” team up for a new upcoming series on Peacock.
Henson stars in a new series adaptation of the novel “The Accomplice,” based on a novel co-written by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Henson is a celebrated actress known for her outstanding and award-nominated performances in films like “Hidden Figures” and notable roles like “The Color Purple,” “Think Like a Man,” and “Think Like a Man Too.”
Jackson is known for his career as a rapper, with songs like “In Da Club,” “21 Questions,” and “Candy Shop,” and since 2014 has made a significant mark as an executive producer with the start of the incredibly popular television series “Power” on Starz.
Not only will Henson star in this new Peacock series, but Henson will also executive-produce alongside Jackson.
The new series follows a fearless Texas Ranger, Nia Adams, played by Henson, on the trail of a master thief, Desmond Bell, whose latest target is one of America’s wealthiest families, uncovering conspiracies that force her to choose between the truth and protecting the very system she swore to serve.
If “The Accomplice” is to go to series, this would be Henson’s second show on Peacock.
Henson’s first show on Peacock was Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, which premiered in September 2024, based on the true story of a major armed robbery that occurred in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1970, on the night of Muhammad Ali’s return to the boxing ring.
The show featured a well-known cast, including Don Cheadle, Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, and former co-star Terrence Howard from “Empire,” along with Henson.
For Henson, this will be yet another powerful addition to her growing list of dynamic leading television roles, solidifying her status as one of Hollywood’s actresses, known for portraying bold, multiplexed women. Henson’s success and roles reflect her drive to amplify meaningful stories and characters that resonate with audiences.
And for Jackson, this series continues his run of successful television productions like the Power franchise series, “BMF”, and “For Life” with only more scripted series, docuseries, and films in the works, not only across Starz but also on other major streaming platforms like Hulu and Netflix.
Jackson is developing a British boxing drama for Starz, “Fightland,” a Hip Hop Cop based on Ron Stallworth’s memoir The Gangs of Zion for Hulu, a documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs for Netflix, and will appear in the upcoming “Street Fighter” movie as Barlog.
Together, Henson and Jackson’s talent and creativity will promise audiences an intense character-driven story about power, truth, and resilience filled with drama, depth, mystery, and bold storytelling that keeps audiences coming back for more.
