Rapper 50 Cent is not holding back regarding the ongoing drama surrounding fellow rappers Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay Z.
On Tuesday, he shared an AI-generated video showing the men under arrest, walking in handcuffs with police officers. The video shows Combs and Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, in tuxedos, holding champagne flutes. It then shows them standing near a jail cell.
The video, which appears to have been removed from 50’s Instagram page Wednesday morning, has already been shared via other social media sites. In the original post, he captions, “I want to post this but I’m afraid I’m gonna get shot. LOL”
Commenters on X, formerly Twitter saying, “Sharing this is diabolical. [laughing emoji].” And another, “LOL nobody touchin 50. Jay Z can’t [expletive] with him.”
The video is problematic as it not only looks incredibly realistic, but it insinuates that the two men are guilty without proper legal recourse. Currently, Combs is in custody at a New York jail awaiting his trial in May of 2025. He has been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking, and both charges he’s denied.
Combs was named in several lawsuits and, up until Sunday, stood alone in the accusations. An accuser, who remains unnamed, claims that Combs sexually assaulted her at a party in 2000. However, she amended her lawsuit to also include Carter in the charges, claiming she was given a drink which made her “woozy, lightheaded and felt [like] she needed to lie down.” The lawsuit alleges that both Combs and Carter raped the victim, who at the time was 13-years-old.
Carter and his wife Beyonce made headlines this week when they appeared at the premiere for the new Disney movie, Mufasa: The Lion King. Their 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy voices a character in the film as does Beyoncé who is returning to her role as Nala. Many were surprised that the family still showed up for the event, given the recent accusations.
But, Carter stood his ground, and in a statement to the lawyer of the accuser said, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!”
