Jay-Z Breaks Silence After Being Accused of Raping Minor With Diddy

Jay Z has been named in a civil lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl.

The suit, originally filed in October and only mentioned Sean “Diddy” Combs, was amended Sunday to include Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. The accuser is anonymous but claims the incident occurred in 2000 at a party held after the MTV Video Music Awards.

She claims she was dropped off at the party, but with no immediate entry, asked several limo drivers if they had a way in. One driver in particular was working for Combs and told the girl to find him after the show, where he promised to take her to a party.

She eventually was granted access to the event, which the lawsuit claims was filled with celebrities and drug use. The girl was given a drink which she claims made her feel “woozy, lightheaded and felt [like] she needed to lie down” before both Carter and Combs allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Lawyer Tony Buzbee has filed several lawsuits on behalf of Combs’ alleged victims. The suits all claiming sexual assault and in some cases, alleged that Combs used drugs to sedate the victims against women and men.

Beyonce’s husband Carter responded to the claims in a statement, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

Buzbee says in the suit, “Carter received a letter from Plaintiff’s counsel requesting a mediation to resolve this matter.” Carter filed his own lawsuit after that saying, “You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same. I’m not from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children.”

Buzbee’s response via X, formerly Twitter, says his client “never demanded a penny” and she “only sought a confidential mediation.” He says his client is “emboldened.”

There has long been talk of the connection between Combs and Carter. With their long history of both a personal and professional relationship, they are now under great scrutiny. Combs is currently in a New York jail awaiting his trial set to begin in May of 2025. He most recently attempted a 3rd time to post bail, an attempt that was denied by the courts. His fall from grace began after he was seen allegedly kicking and dragging his then-girlfriend Cassie on a hotel surveillance camera. He was arrested in September of this year on alleged sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
