Kanye West’s dentist is denying accusations that he supplied nitrous oxide to the award-winning rapper.
The shocking statement comes from West’s former chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos. In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, Wednesday, Yiannopoulos claims that dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly purposefully gave West nitrous oxide, more commonly known as laughing gas, in order to take financial advantage of the superstar.
“It’s my belief that Connelly sought to diminish Ye’s mental faculties so that Connelly and his business associates could extract millions of dollars from him.”Yiannopoulos wrote. “There’s a reason Ye is no longer capable of successfully releasing music or clothing.”
Yiannopoulous served on West’s team for nearly two years until he departed in May, along with other key players from West’s company. The departure came after Yiannopoulous says West, high on nitrous, purposefully ended the business partnership. There were rumblings of West launching a “Yeezy Porn” studio as he was in talks with Stormy Daniel’s ex-husband.
Yiannopoulous had openly opposed this business pitch and was not willing to take part in the production of pornographic materials. The relationship ultimately ended after West pressed send with his porn production company idea, leaving him no choice but to resign. Despite Yiannopoulous no longer working for Kanye, it seems that he still feels obligated to protect the star, thus Yiannopoulous calling out Dr. Connelly for allegedly giving the entertainer nitrous oxide.
A rep for Dr. Connelly, the self-proclaimed “Father of Diamond Dentistry,” denied the allegations to TMZ, calling the narrative “not only factually incorrect but also intentionally misleading.”
In the statement issued Wednesday, Connelly’s team defends him, saying, “[Dr. Connelly] adheres to all ethical and legal standards.” The statement also says that Yiannopoulous was making up the claims to get attention and is attempting to “maliciously damage Connelly’s reputation in the process.”
In a legal affidavit posted on X, Yiannopoulous breaks down the accusations, claiming Dr.Connelly was personally delivering West surgical-sized canisters of the drug to his home, which reached totals of $50,000 dollars a month.
Fans of West are taking to X to express their concern using the hashtag, #SaveYe.
“This news has been truly heartbreaking. Ye needs 2 be surrounded by people that actually love and care about him, instead of yes people who only like him cuz of his money. Pray for Ye #saveYe.”
Others on X, “They are literally poisoning him to get everything they can.” Repeatedly, fans are sharing their concerns, including a two-second video, that appeared to be filmed by West himself, showing him with an oxygen mask covering his mouth and nose. In the short video, West says, “Ryan Garcia, this is Ye, I’m on the nitrous.”
Another West fan on X shares his concerns, “This whole Ye thing is genuinely horrifying and tragic bro. No wonder the music was rushed and he’s been struggling. Nitrous is one of the hardest addictions to overcome. Someone get him support before it’s too late.”
And further on X, another fan shares a picture of a printed flyer that says “They’re trying to kill Kanye West (Ye).” The signage can be seen on a light pole on an empty night street in Phoenix, urging people who see the sign to share it on their social media platforms, as well as reach out to local new stations or influencers with a large following in order to share the concern.
