After four years Dominic Toretto and his family reunite for another fast and furious journey. In the forthcoming ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise “F9: The Fast Saga,” Dom and his crew embark on another action-packed mission filled with new revelations and shocking surprises.
Ring leader Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, has settled down and is living a lowkey life as a family man with his wife Letty, played by Michelle Rodriguez, and son Brian. Although Dom is enjoying his peaceful new life, it’s soon interrupted by his estranged brother Jakob Torreto (John Cena). Once again Dom and the Fast & Furious gang are thrusted back into the fast life, no pun intended, this time going head-to-head with Dom’s long lost brother Jakob.
“F9: The Fast Saga,” is jam-packed with death-defying stunts even more extreme than previous movies within the global franchise. As if “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw ” wasn’t intensely action-packed enough, the upcoming F9 is upping the ante stunt-wise.
The trailer for the new movie is a complete adrenaline rush, consisting of fantastical high-speed chases off cliffs, people busting out of multistory buildings and a rocket car. Although it seems like the entire premise of the movie was included in the almost four minute long trailer, F9 is actually more than just cool car chases and badass fight scenes.
“It definitely has a lot more meaning to it,” Director Justin Lin told People. “Usually as a filmmaker when you have a trailer, you are like, ‘Oh man, let’s not give that away!’ … I can safely say there is still a lot in the film that hasn’t been shared. I’m really excited for that.”
Alongside some new surprises—like rap star Cardi B and Reggaeton star Ozuna— the film also includes cherished recurring characters Roman (Tyrese), Tej (Ludacris) and Mia (Jordana Brewster). Even Han Lue (Sang Kang) makes a reappearance in “F9: The Fast Saga.” The highly anticipated film is dropping in theatres on June 25.
