Popular and ‘Most Requested Side’ Returns To Shake Shack Menu

Shake Shack is adding more than soup-inspired burgers and limited-edition fries to its menu this fall. This food chain is also taking the initiative and adding highly requested sides.

This comes after Shake Shack finally released its fall 2025 menu, which is especially good for onion lovers. As the dog days of summer come to a close, the hot dog menu at the restaurant chain shifts into a more dreamlike state with new limited additions rolling out alongside the burgers.

One of the new limited editions is the French onion menu, which is available. This burger menu consists of delicious French onion-based dishes. Shake Shack now has the French Onion Soup burger, ‘Shroom Burger, and French Onion Shack Stack.

These quarter-pounders are topped with Gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, sweet onions, and Parmesan. Shake Shack‘s French Onion Mushroom burger offers a unique twist on the classic meal.

It’s topped with a fried portobello mushroom and various cheeses, including cheddar and Muenster. Like the French onion soup burger, the shroom burger is topped with a toasted potato bun.

The French Onion Stack has a vegan option called the Veggie Burger Stack. Shake Shack executive chef and vice president John Karangis says the motivation behind the fall launch was to “capture the death of the classic soup in a way that only Shake Shack can with flavor in layers.”

Another new addition to the Shake Shack menu is the new Onion rings.

“Now we’re also excited to divide our new onion rings, our most requested side from fans,” Karangis says.

“So the survey to bring back onion rings worked, I need this ASAP!” one TikTok commenter wrote. “Just tried them today 10/10,” said another comment.

For a while, onion rings were highly requested, and by popular demand, they have finally been added to the fall menu. The onion rings will consist of beer-battered sweet Spanish onions, served with any type of sauce, all for the price of five dollars.

Other side dishes that are being added to the fall menu or shake shack, crinkle cut, fries, limited edition. This addition of crinkle cut fries involves loaded Parmesan to give off that cheesy flavor.

As summer comes to a close, Shake Shack’s fall menu will be available on its app on September 9 and will be fully available in all locations on September 12.
