Cheeseburgers have always been a staple of fast food. They have quickly become a universal item when it comes to comfort food. Since cheese can be incorporated into multiple dishes, it can elevate a regular hamburger into many possibilities.
Cheeseburgers have become so popular that well-known chefs have taken note of the beef quality in these fast-food burgers. After the discussion, all four of them decided on one particular burger that takes the top spot.
Burgers can be served in various dishes, and they could contain a lot of beef, whether from cows, turkey, or vegan options. There are many different burger recipes for people to try how many styles it can be made in.
One example could be cheeseburgers. As stated before, since they can be made in a variety of ways, the same thing can be applied to cheeseburgers as well. Despite being made in different ways, the primary question is which fast food restaurant can produce the best one. That’s when the four professional chefs come in.
Jim Perillo an executive chef at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in New York, says that the number one priority in a fast food cheeseburger should be fresh meat.
“Frozen patties tend to be dry. They lose moisture through the thawing process. Pre-cooked frozen patties that have been sitting also leave much to be desired. Nothing beats a fresh burger,” he says.
Dominic Iannarelli, chef-owner of Prime and Providence-based in Iowa, adds that well-seasoned burgers are also a priority. Dan Pelosi says the bun must be soft enough to “hug the burger.”
Pelosi goes into more detail and states that the burger is better with fewer toppings.
“The sign of a confident burger is when she’s not afraid to be one of the very few options available,” he states.
Considering all of this, according to these four chefs, the fast food restaurant with the best cheeseburger was In-N-Out’s Double-Double Animal Style.
“In-N-Out stands out due to the quality of patties and balances of toppings. This is especially noticeable when ordered with two or three patties,” Iannerelli says.
This burger consists of two American beef patties topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle chips, grilled onions, and the brand’s special sauce.
In-N-Out Burger is a West Coast food chain known for its unique thin burgers. Their beef is 100% fresh and never frozen, which is considered perfection for Pelosi.
“On top of using the freshest ingredients in and out, staff training is excellent. Their restaurants are always clean and their staff is always smiling,” says Perillo.
