As Paris Fashion Week begins, don’t look at your closet with a side-eye, rather take inspiration from what we are seeing on the runways.
High-end couture and celebrities make a perfect combination when you’re trying to put your products out there for the world to take in. It’s a visual treat for anyone, especially those who are fortunate enough to participate and sit flank to the runways. Models, both of note and unknowns, take the runways with confidence and swagger all to showcase beautiful and sometimes quirky items of clothing created by an imaginative designer.
There is plenty for the eye as rapper Megan Thee Stallion attended wearing designer Gaurav Gupta‘s gladiator look with swooping bronze chains, beads, coins and a headpiece. Her 33 million followers on Instagram seemed to love the look, with nearly all comments echoing this sentiment, “You look like a literal goddess, jaw-droppingly beautiful.”
Other celebrities include Kylie Jenner dressed in a classic Chanel spring-forward look which included a white miniskirt and cropped long sleeve matching jacket. She finished the outfit with simple black pumps and matching sunglasses.
Lily-Rose Depp, Pamela Anderson, and Dua Lipa all sat front row at the Chanel show, while Pro Tennis legend Venus Williams appeared at the Christian Dior show along with Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actress Jenna Ortega.
Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, turned heads when she appeared in a sheer bodysuit, wearing nothing underneath except for a black thong and a black trench coat on top. Certainly, she’s taken a page from her mother, who built her career on ruffling feathers.
Singer Tyla wore a long black dress that essentially had the side panels missing, exposing her bare legs, hips and undergarments. Kylie Jenner’s aforementioned attire raised eyebrows with her crop-top style, and Amelia Gray chose a micro-crop top showcasing her abs and, quite possibly even more shocking, paired the top with denim jeans.
Founded in 1973, Paris Fashion Week was organized by the French Fashion Federation. The organization strives to maintain the image of Paris, France as thee destination for fashion. It’s a semi-annual event showcasing haute couture designs from Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton. Haute couture specifies custom-fitted, high-end fashion designs. Paris Fashion Week is known for being part of the “Big Four” which includes London, Milan and New York.
Naturally, celebrities are drawn to the events. The shows are held at various locations throughout the City of Love, with the most popular spots being The Oratory of the Louvre, The Palais de Tokyo, and The Tuileries Garden.
