Just in time for the holiday season, new Taylor Swift merchandise is here. Announced Tuesday, Swift will release The Official Eras Tour Book and The Tortured Poet’s Department: The Anthology vinyl and CD.
Swift made the big announcement via her Instagram. A 30-second video shows the inside of the book as pages turn. The book will feature over 500 photographs of Swift throughout her record-breaking tour. In addition, it will include anecdotes from Swift and her time on the road as the tour comes to a close soon. Both the Eras Tour book and the vinyl and CD will be available on November 29, which is Black Friday, at Target.
Swift’s Eras Tour broke the mold for artists and concert-goers alike. With a schedule of 152 dates on five continents over the course of what will be nearly 21 months, Swift took the stage for over three hours each night, playing her biggest and most-loved songs from each of her 10 studio albums.
The Eras Tour brought in $1 billion, making it the biggest grossing concert tour ever. Selling over four million tickets to her adoring fans, people waited for hours online at Ticketmaster only to be met with a frozen queue or waiting through the site crashing. Ticketmaster couldn’t keep up with demand, citing “historically unprecedented demand with millions showing up” for the pop star’s ticket.
Fans also set their own standard for one’s dedication to their favorite musician. Taking craft time to the next level, the “friendship bracelet” has morphed into something synonymous with Swift. The popular trend for concert-goers, and even those unable to score a ticket, picked up steam after fans cued in on a lyric from the song You’re On Your Own, Kid from Swift’s Midnights album. The lyric, “So, make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it” sent fans into a frenzy with making the bracelets.
