NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor and his ex are battling in a courtroom over a Los Angeles house, and he’s asking the courts to dismiss the case.
The 34-year-old player wants to settle a lawsuit after Draya Michele, his ex-girlfriend, sued him for breach of contract. She says she was given permission to move into the home with her three children, but Tyrod Taylor pulled the plug on the verbal agreement by saying he would kick her out of his house.
Draya Michelle is saying she is looking for damages for alleged emotional distress and for the courts to make Tyrod sell her his house. Draya Michele says she was told by Tyrod Taylor that any improvements or payments she made on the house would count towards the end sale.
But he claims he’s not in the wrong because the agreement was never finalized. In Touch reports that court documents state that she had an “unsigned lease, and unsigned purchase agreement and emails evidencing at most negotiations for the possible purchase of the subject property.”
She says he didn’t stay true to their agreement and that she put in $300 thousand dollars in the house and that she offered $2.8 million and he countered with $3.2 million but they never reached an agreement.
Taylor was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2011 and played for 4 seasons before heading to play for the Buffalo Bills. He holds the Bills record for highest completion percentage in a single game at 91.7% as well as most consecutive pass attempts without an interception at 222.
In 2019, he played for the Los Angeles Chargers. Injured with a broken rib and in an attempt to give him pain meds, the team doctor punctured his lung causing “severe physical pain resulting in hospitalization, physical therapy, emotional distress and other past pain and suffering.” First-round pick Justin Herbert was chosen to be the starter for the remainder of the season.
Taylor sued for medical malpractice against the doctor David S. Gazzaniga for $5 million dollars. The lawsuit states, “As he returned to free agency, he entered as a back-up quarterback as opposed to a starting quarterback. The economic difference between a starting quarterback’s salary and a back-up quarterback salary is at least $5 million dollars and is more than likely much greater.” Taylor didn’t see any field time for the rest of that season and joined the Texas the following season for a one-year deal.
Taylor and Draya Michele had a relationship for 3 years which ended in 2023. She began dating Houston Rockets shooting guard Jalen Hurts and they share one 3-month-old daughter. Draya Michele was spotted on her Instagram page showing off some pretty pricey goods including a new bright green purse from NAYR STUDIO which retails at $200 as well as a new pair of Crocs that are unreleased at this point. The slip-on shoes retail at $140 and are available in September.
Draya Michele came to be well known after she appeared in Basketball Wives LA in 2011. She previously dated singer Chris Brown and today is known for developing her own swimwear line, Mint Swimwear as well as two clothing lines, Fine Ass Girls and Beige & Coco.
