Jhené Aiko Uses Her Voice For The New Disney Movie ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’

Songstress Jhené Aiko uses her superb musical talents to write and perform the brand-new song “Lead the Way” for the upcoming Disney film “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

In the latest preview of “Raya and the Last Dragon,” Aiko’s angelic voice danced in the background as her electric song “Lead the Way” played in the teaser trailer. Although the entire track hasn’t been released, According to Billboard, “Carlos López Estrada, one of the Raya and the Last Dragon directors, directed the accompanying visual for the “Lead the Way” music video, which will be released next month.” Furthermore, the song will also be featured on the ending credits and soundtrack of the approaching film. 

Aiko’s song “Lead the Way” summarizes the essence of the film, highlighting the importance of love, justice and unity. The beautiful aesthetic of “Raya and the Last Dragon” is illuminated by Aiko’s performance, adding a victorious aura to the heroine centered film. “Raya and the Last Dragon” is the embodiment of girl power, chronicling the journey of sole warrior Raya as she searches to find the last dragon that can help her restore peace back to her homeland Kumandra. 

This inspiring feature film also includes the voices from people of color, adding a layer of authenticity to “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Since the film incorporates many influences from Asian culture, it’s befitting for the cast to be predominantly of Asian descent. Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, Awkwafina as the dragon Sisu, Sandra Oh as the mother of Namaari, and Gemma Chan as Raya’s enemy Namaari are just a few of the notable Asian actors that will be a part of the cultural movie. 

“Raya and the Last Dragon” is a family must-see and will be available on Disney+ for Premium Access on March 5th, 2021. The film will also be available in select theaters nationwide.
