As the few weeks of 2026 kick off, Broadway shows no signs of slowing down. Other shows in Broadway, such as Dream Girls, Every Brilliant Thing, and many more are coming to Broadway without a hitch and Oh, Mary is one of them.
Cole Escola’s Oh, Mary! Will come to Broadway and participate in a national tour starting in fall 2026. The tour will start in Connecticut’s Bushnell, before heading to Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, with more cities to come in the future.
As far as casting goes there hasn’t been a set cast yet, but Henry Russell Bergstein will announce the cast soon.
This dark comedy is based on the weeks leading up to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It also focuses on Mary Todd Lincoln, who feels suffocated while also dealing with unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and lots of desires of her forgotten life, and dreams through the lens of an idiot.
“The funniest play on Broadway.” Said by Entertainment Weekly
“One of the best comedies in years,” said The New York Times
Like many other Broadway shows coming in 2026, it isn’t the first time it’s premiered on Broadway. The show premiered at the Lucille Lortel Theater in 2024, with the run extended three times. Soon, later that year, it transferred to Broadway and made a lot of history at the box office. Oh, Mary! became the first show in the theater’s 121-year history to make more than $1 million in a single week. In 2025, the show won 12 Tony Awards, with Sam Pickleton winning best direction of a play, while Escola, the original Oh, Mary actor, won best leading actor in a play.
Previous Broadway productions featured a well-known roster of favorites who played Mary after Escales departure, including Betty Gilpin, Hannah Solow, Jinkx Monsoon, and many more.
As far as directing the play, Pickleton will return to reprise his direction and reunite with his original creative team, including costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, sound designer and composer Daniel Kluger, Drew Levy, and other costume and makeup designers. Music arrangements are also by David Dabbon.
The play itself will be produced by both Lucas McMahon and Kevin McCollum, alongside Mike Lavoie and Carlee Briglia, with co-producers including the council, Jean Doumanian Productions, Bob Boyett, Nicole Eisenberg, George Strus, Richard Batchelder, Jay Marcus, and Showtime Productions, among many others.
