Sabrina Carpenter is a hot commodity this summer, and we’re not just talking about her new single, Espresso.
Speaking of the song, fans will be overjoyed to hear that the former Disney star turned pop star is partnering with the company Van Leeuwen Ice Cream to release a flavor of the summer, aptly named Espresso.
Carpenter’s song-inspired ice cream will have an expresso-flavored base combined with a chocolate flavor concoction of brownie bites, chocolate chips, and fudge swirls. The flavor will be available in scoop shops in New York, California, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, and Connecticut. People who don’t live in those locations don’t fret; you can purchase Espresso online beginning on June 28.
Van Leeuwen recently took to their Instagram page, posting an image filled with cartons of the ice cream.
“The rumors are true. Song of the summer, meet flavor of the summer: @SabrinaCarpenter Espresso ice cream. Espresso ice cream. Rich, chewy brownies. Chocolate chips. Swirls of fudge, Is it that sweet?,” the brand captioned.
“We guess so. VL x Sabrina Carpenter Espresso ice cream will be available in scoop shops and on our website starting June 28th.”
The ice cream company also promises to donate half the profits from the ice cream sales to the Ali Forney Center, a non-profit organization that provides assistance and resources to unhoused LGBTQ+ teens. Reactions to the announcement have mainly been positive.
One commented under the brand’s post, “Van Leeuwen marketing team deserves a raise.” A second added, “This is DREAM ICE CREAM.”
While many were excited about the new flavor, not all were 100% thrilled, mainly because of the cost of shipping.
“Damn $60 for it to be shipped. Why can’t yall have it in stores? DURING PRIDE MONTH TOO?,” a critic complained.
Meanwhile, someone else mentioned: “Kinda upset it won’t be in stores like Walmart and such, it’s ridiculous you have to spend 60 dollars but I guess I will be doing that…”
Despite the concern about pricing, it seems that her fans will still buy it because it it associated with her and a good cause. The cross-promotion between Carpenter and Van Leeuwen seems as if it will be very fruitful and help with the publicity for the rollout of her new album Short n’ Sweet, which comes out on August 23.
Van Leeuwen is a popular ice cream brand best known for its limited-edition flavors, which are released in collaboration with companies like Hidden Valley and Tapatio.
