DJ Akademiks, a media personality known for his online beef with rappers and his recent input on the Kendrick Lamar-Drake rap beef, was hit with a lawsuit earlier this week.
On Tuesday, The hip-hop commentator, whose real name is Livingston Allen, was named in a rape and defamation lawsuit. A woman by the name of Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe filed the lawsuit, alleging that the internet personality had invited her to his home in July 2022, where she encountered two men she didn’t know would be there.
Abashe alleged that the two men at the on-air host’s home drugged her and pressured her into drinking until she was intoxicated before they assaulted and raped her at the streamer’s home. She also claimed that the podcaster raped her in addition to the two men. Although Abashe filed her lawsuit on Tuesday, she has been making these claims since 2023. Abashe and DJ Akademiks met in 2021.
Of course, DJ Akademiks has denied any wrongdoing. On Monday, he defended his innocence during a stream on his Rumble channel as he addressed the lawsuit, admitting that he couldn’t divulge much about it before going on a mini-rant.
“I can’t talk about too much because I’ve paid lawyers to handle sh*t in court,” DJ Akademiks said.
“These people who are coming at me are hoping that I f**k that up by handling it on social media. The police wants nothing to do with this. They’re saying there is no crime.”
The loud-mouth pundit revealed that he wondered if Abashe might be conspiring against him to get a check since she and one of Diddy’s sexual assault accusers, Lil Rod, have the same lawyer.
“Is it possible that that person who’s really seeing the money grab was really the Diddy stuff,” DJ Akademiks asked prior to making a chilling threat. Heads will roll if he were to be convicted in the rape lawsuit, DJ Akademiks warned later in the stream.
“Let me tell you this about everyone in the industry: if Ak ever goes down, y’all going down with me,” he expressed. “‘Cause I hold no secrets for nobody.”
Ever since the news about the lawsuit came out, people on the internet have provided their opinions on DJ Akademiks on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“We ain’t forget about this video of DJ Akademiks,” a user wrote in an X post that had a video of him being physical with an unknown woman.
“Congratulations DJ Akademiks for being the first person to ever put a hit out on his own self publicly while intensely mouth breathing the entire time,” another user chimed in.
“DJ Akademiks… “I’m taking everyone down with me” is not the sort of thing an innocent man says…” one person pointed out.
