Some hip hop icons entered into the Kendrick Lamar/Drake/J.Cole saga
During a time when the entertainment industry is experiencing so much turmoil, a particular rap beef re-emerges. In the latest Metro Boomin and Future song, Like That, Kendrick Lamar drops a rather sketchy lyric against the First Person Shooter rappers Drake and J.Cole when he said, “Motherfu** a big 3, n-word it’s a big me.” Though this reintroduction of the feud between Drake and Lamar is not new, the comments from both Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri are.
Dupri took it to the internet to let us know that “the real big 3,” does not include Cole, Drake, or Lamar. In a recent Instagram post, his caption reads: “20 years later, the real big three” as Usher, Bryan-Micheal Cox, and himself posed for a picture.
The I’ve Got to Have It rapper seemingly responds before Cole, but not before Drake. Mr. OVO seemingly addressed it on March 24, in Sunrise, Florida, during his and Cole’s It’s All a Blur Tour–Big As The What?
“A lot of people asking me how I’m feeling. I got my head high, my back straight,” the Nice for What rapper said. “I’m 10 f**king toes down in Florida or anywhere else I go. And I know no matter what, there’s not a n-word on this Earth that could ever f**k with me in my life.”
Enters in West. The College Dropout rapper has had his fair share of feuds and leaves no room for interpretation of what he means. The Heartless rapper got in on Lamar and Drake’s battle, and like Dupri, he disagrees with the “Big 3.” He took the time to remind us in a straightforward Instagram post shared on Thursday.
“Everyone knows I washed Kendrick on no more parties in LA,” he wrote, referring to the feature Lamar had on Ye’s 2016 album The Life of Pablo.
“Everyone knows I washed Drake at the Free Hoover Concert,” he added, referring to the 2021 concert in Los Angeles, California. He ended with, “I am the only person to come back to number one after cancellation. There is only one goat. I stand with me, my friends call me Ye.”
Fans are speculating what’s next from this ongoing rap beef between arguably three of the dopest rappers of this time.
Cole has yet to respond to the diss, but it’s still early, and anything can happen. As of now, the Off-Season spitter will miss the next four tour dates in the It’s A Blur Tour – Big As The What? The last tour date is in April in Denver, Colorado at the Ball Arena.
Maybe we’ll get a new track from Drake and Cole or at the very least a surprise announcement at their final show, fingers crossed.
