Lamar Jackson, who is a quaterback for the Baltimore Ravens, recently signed up for Streamer University and thanks to Complex and Complex Sports, we have footage of him dropping by an in-person auditions event in New York City.
While some may dismiss video sites like TikTok as mere “meme machines” others see the lucrative business model that is hiding just beneath the surface. Kai Cenat, a professional YouTuber and streamer, is one such person. He established the Streamer University just last year, and already has garnered plenty of attention due to the type of education that is provided.
Cenat’s university utilized a fantasy trailer harkening back to the likes of Harry Potter on his YouTube channel to advertise the establishment. The unorthodox university is aimed at helping various types of streamers learn the ins and outs of the industry.

A streamer by the name of Snowcone has claimed that Streamer University was more important than Harvard. She brought up the lessons that were taught, criticizing the extreme cost and prohibitive acceptance rate attached to Harvard. The rates of acceptance for Streamer U were 420 times higher, in fact.
According to Yahoo’s research on Streamer U, this will be a three-day course that, “Attendees will learn about four topics, namely Content Creation 101, Audience Growth, Monetization, and Tech & Tools.”
Interestingly, Cenat has expressed a disdain for AI content like many Gen Z, saying any AI-generated content, including posters, will be rejected. This is so that there’s a soul to the work, and that the art they make would fail or succeed by its own merits.
In addition they have their professors already lined up, as these are the instructors: Duke Dennis (Physical Education), Agent (Monetization for Dummies), DDG (Internet Beef 101), cookingwithkya (Culinary), ImDontai (Defense Against Hating), India Love (Love & Relationships), and Ojay Suave (Guidance Counselor).”
Applicants are required to submit a video and have at least social media handle in order to potentially be accepted. The event has already attracted its fair share of students with over a million content creators submitting their application content.
Out of that massive pool of initial applicants, 150 lucky students were chosen to learn all about content creation. This is a free, all-expenses-paid education experience that includes travel, food and lodging, all generously provided by the program.
It’s unclear how Jackson’s career in the National Football League could affect his future with the university. NFL’s TikTok shared footage of him pulling up to Streamer U. Given his fame as a professional football star, it has given them a significant boost in attendees.
However, seeing as his main profession is on the Ravens, it’s likely that he’ll only appear in videos to promote the school without being overly involved in it, especially when the NFL season starts up again.
