Fall is here with seasonal activities for everyone to enjoy.
With the leaves changing color and the weather getting cooler, whether you want to keep it cute and cozy inside or have a thrilling day outside, fall brings indoor and outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.
Apple Picking
Starting with a classic, we have apple picking. If you plan to bake a homemade pie, make a cider, or simply enjoy apples as a snack, visit a local orchard and pick out some apples.
Most local orchards open their fields in September and October, giving visitors the perfect chance to fill their baskets with crisp and freshly picked apples.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Now, no fall season is complete without a trip to a pumpkin patch. Visit a farm and pick out a pumpkin perfect for a night of carving or for baking a pie.
While you are at the farm, many farms offer additional activities, as well, like hayrides, and seasonal treats such as apple cider, apple cider doughnuts, pumpkin-themed foods, a petting zoo perfect for children or any animal lovers, fun cutouts to take photos, and many more activities.
Visit a Corn Maze
If you love escape rooms, test your wit with a corn maze this season. Challenge friends or family to see who can complete the maze faster, or for those 21 and up, some farms offer boozy corn mazes where you may have to ‘wine your way out’.
Whether you go during the day or at night, corn mazes are a great way to enjoy the outdoors, put your problem-solving skills to the test, and have some fun.
Have a Bonfire
Missing the warmth, gather around a bonfire with friends or family. Roast marshmallows, sip hot chocolate or cider, and enjoy a conversation under the stars.
This activity is the perfect excuse to visit a winery, go cider tasting, or plan a camping trip.
Get Creative: Decorate with Nature
Bring the outdoors indoors, collect colorful leaves, pinecones, or acorns to use as seasonal decor around the house. Whether you arrange items as a centerpiece, decorate them in a bowl, or use them in a DIY craft project, decorate with nature.
This is a creative and budget-friendly way to celebrate fall from the comfort of your home and spend quality time with friends or family, pop open some wine or cider, and create a paint and sip kind of vibe.
Attend a Festival
Fall is full of community events that highlight food, music, and culture. Attend a local festival, enjoy live entertainment, support local vendors, and celebrate the season with others, or attend Oktoberfest, which brings together food, music, and seasonal brews.
Even if you are not traveling to Munich, many towns and cities host their own version of Oktoberfest, offering a taste of German culture or other festivals that meet the interests of others.
Host a Potluck
Fall is a festive season filled with community and being thankful for many, so this season, invite friends or family to make or bring their favorite dish or a dish from their culture.
Hosting a potluck can be the perfect activity to come together and connect, learn about different cultures, and share the warmth of the season with loved ones.
DIY Fall Drinks
Looking for a night of more fun and creativity, host a DIY fall drink night with friends or family. Experiment and create your own seasonal drinks, alcoholic or non alcoholic, and enjoy a night of fun, or get cozy and binge-watch your favorite fall TV shows or Oscar award-winning movies.
This activity also pairs well with many of the other activities, such as getting creative, decorating with nature, having a bonfire, a potluck, or apple picking, if you want to incorporate apples into the drinks.
Whether you are seeking an outdoor adventure or cozy nights in, fall offers countless ways to connect, get creative, and celebrate the season with loved ones.
