Chuck E. Cheese has been a staple in many people’s childhoods for many years. From the arcade to memorable birthday parties, Chuck E. Cheese has remained a strong presence. However, a new twist may be on the horizon for the iconic childhood restaurant.
The children’s play chain recently announced a spin-off restaurant called Chuck’s Arcade for adult fans. This gaming spot is “created for adults and lifelong fans,” according to a press release.
The franchise also added that “Chuck’s arcade is a modern-day love letter to the games and people who made Chuck E. Cheese great.”
There are approximately ten locations in the country as of now. Locations are open in states such as Florida, New York, Texas, Georgia, Connecticut, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, and Missouri, with additional locations to follow. The Kansas City location, in particular, will feature a pizzeria and offer beer and wine service.
Just like the regular Chuck E. Cheese, each arcade will have a combination of new and classic games, including Mortal Kombat and Donkey Kong, along with newer titles such as Halo and Connect Four Hoops. Players can win tickets from these games, which they can trade in for toys and prizes. Guests can also buy Chuck’s arcade merchandise, such as T-shirts, plushies, hats, and more.
Also, just like its original counterpart, Chuck’s arcade will still feature iconic animatronics, but with a twist. Instead of performing like they usually do, animatronics such as Helen Henney and Mr. Munch will stand guard.
According to a Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson, the food served in Chuck’s arcade is pizza and chicken wings. Along with soft drinks and ICEEs, alcohol is provided at these locations for people 21 and up.
Chuck E. Cheese CEO David McKillips states that the spinoff is a “natural evolution” for the company and sees it as an “opportunity to extend our arcade legacy into a new format that engages both lifelong fans and a new generation through a curated mix of retro Classics and cutting-edge experiences.”
This comes five years after the company filed for bankruptcy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The children’s food chain spent $350 million remodeling over the years and changing the prices.
The launch of Chuck’s arcade comes after their rival, Dave & Buster’s, experienced troubles. In February 2025, the restaurant reported a 9.4% decline in same-store sales, with its new management calling the changes “ill-advised.”
