Everyone wants to have great skin. And we know your makeup can only do so much if your skin isn’t healthy. With the start of the new year, you may think that it’s time to get your skincare routine in order.
The obvious maintenance rules include properly cleansing twice a day, staying hydrated, and avoiding too many sun rays. But from there, we have more options in your dermatologist’s or esthetician’s offices. A few trends we may see in 2025 are of the less-is-more variety. Steering away from too many fillers, you’ll notice non-invasive treatments gaining popularity.
LED therapy light, radio frequency and gua sha, which is a Chinese method of essentially “scraping” the skin to promote circulation and relax your muscles by using a device typically made with jade. Celebrities and influencers with too much filler have most likely helped push the figurative pendulum towards a more natural look.
Exosome therapy is the next big trend in Asia. Exosome are microscopic particles that communicate between your cells by reducing inflammation and encouraging healthy growth and repair. It can be used throughout your body not just limited to your face.
Ceramides are used in products that can enhance the health of your skin and even your hair. Found naturally in your body, experts say ceramides are lipids that can protect your skin barrier, retain moisture and reduce the appearance of aging.
And finally, you may be longing for a simple routine. Your skin only needs and will thrive on a cleanser that won’t strip it of its natural oils. You should also consider a moisturizer and sunscreen for daily use. In the evening, wash your face to remove makeup, dirt and oil and apply a serum that is rich in vitamin C or a retinol.
Finally, a moisturizer on top of the serum will lock in hydration. Your skin does most of its repair in the overnight hours as you sleep, so by using a proper routine you are giving your skin the best chance at recovery and healing.
