In the dead of winter, when everything around you may be frozen, bare, or hibernating, you have to find a way to bring a little light into your life.
Specifically, a highlighter and bronze combo in your makeup routine. The latest trend taking over social media is “Cinnamon Girl” makeup. The trend, helmed by model Hailey Bieber, is universal for all ages and skin types. Using neutral tones, the look is easily achieved using shades of brown, tan, and nude. Application is simple in three easy steps.
First, as with any makeup application, you always want your skin to be prepped properly. A great makeup look starts with hydrated skin. Moisturize first, then apply your lightweight foundation. You can use any technique you prefer, be it with your sponge, brush or even fingers and blend. Using a primer first helps to ensure your foundation stays in place throughout the day and keeps the shine at bay if you’re prone to oiliness.
A touch of what looks to be sun-kissed skin can brighten your winter blues. So, add a bronzer around your cheekbones, temples and top of your forehead. Adding a little highlighter on these areas can also catch the light and enhance your features. The supermodel showed herself in a video blending well with a brush and adding a bit of blush on top of the bronzer.
A deeper rose color also goes well with the cinnamon trend. On your eyelids, try a copper or bronze color that compliments your foundation. Because your face and eyes are a little more intense you may want to go lighter with your lips. Bieber outlines her lips with a nude pencil and tops it off with a simple tinted balm.
Bieber knows her stuff when it comes to this popular process. She began her own makeup and skincare line, Rhode, in June 2022, initially offering a serum, lip balm, and moisturizer. The products offered are dermatologist-tested and made with scientifically-backed ingredients. Most of the products are designed to enhance your natural beauty and focus on your natural looks.
Bieber designed her line with affordability in mind. Steering away from high-end prices, she put her products under a $30 range. She says of pricey products, “There’s a lot of PR surrounding skin care that makes you think that when something has a big price tag on it, it’s supposed to do something way more significant than something that’s affordable-in my experience, that wasn’t true.”
Rhode’s Pineapple Refresh Cleanser runs for $28, their lip tint costs $16, and The Glazing Milk is a prep product for your skin, earning rave reviews online. Out of nearly 35 hundred reviews, it’s earned a near-perfect 5-star rating. Their best-selling product will cost you $32 for 4.7 ounces.
Rhode has had an impressive start. Selling out of product lines in days and seeing 8-figure sales in less than two weeks put the line on the map. Accolades for the line include being named as a Forbes 30 Under 30 winner, Allure’s Best Of Beauty winner and Beauty Inc named Rhodes as the Best Newcomer. Social media has spoken and Rhode is the top 10 most talked about skincare line on the internet.
