Rapper Cardi B has never been one to suffer fools, and today is no different. Fans online are wondering if the 31-year-old pregnant mother is changing her looks.
The battle went down on X, formerly Twitter, after someone asked if she is bleaching her skin since her complexion appears to be of a lighter hue in recent photos. Cardi B clapped back, “Bleaching while pregnant? Why must y’all be so dumb?” She continued, “Actually NO! I’m pregnant I’m slightly anemic, this baby suckin all the energy off my body to the point I’m pale, eyes sunken, veins green ASF, can’t tan under the sun cause I get hot super fast and dizzy…PLEASE STOP THINKIN WITH YOUR A-HOLE!”
Fans on X came to her defense. One wrote, “They can’t even respect women while they’re pregnant. Gross af!”
Another sent a thoughtful message to help give a little insight to the condition, “Take iron pills it will help with the anemia and low energy. A lot of water intake and try taking some walks to get some sun and not actually tanning. Pregnancy takes a lot of energy, your body is doing some heavy lifting. Also natures bounty is some of the best essential prenatal vitamins around. Good luck on the journey.”
Pregnant women have many ailments and conditions that pop up during their entire pregnancy, most of them are temporary and will dissipate after delivery. According to The Mayo Clinic, skin changes are caused by hormones and can include an increase in melanin in your skin as well as patches on your face. Even further, stretch marks are common, though can’t be prevented, and will most likely fade over time. Other symptoms of pregnancy are dizziesss which is a result of changes in your circulation.
Cardi B is expecting her third child with Migos alum rapper Offset as the pair are in the middle of their second divorce. They seem to go back and forth having been married in 2017, splitting up a year later to only reconcile. In 2020, Cardi B filed for divorce, but they ultimately found a way to make things work. This time around, People is reporting that they are ending their six-year marriage. According to a rep for Cardi B, “It’s not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming.”
Cheating rumors followed them in their first divorce, with Offset accusing Cardi B of being unfaithful. However, it was later discovered that Offset had lied after he was under the influence of alcohol. Offset admitting fault on his 2017 indiscretions, “When I did do that, I was in a different space. I was young. I had just got married. I’m getting a lot of money.”
The divorce announcement was made earlier this month, a day before her pregnancy post. Cardi B posted a picture of her holding her baby bump while donning a gorgeous plunging red gown that showed off her pregnant belly. She lovingly looked at her stomach as she posed, looking glamorous.
“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!,” she captioned her post. “Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!”
She added: “It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
The two not only share two children, Kulture, 6 and Wave, 2, with the third on the way, but they also performed musically together. Ironically, their song “Jealousy” was released in 2023 and peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Trending Songs.
