BIA has been the topic of conversation ever since the success of her breakout single Whole Lotta Money. In just the last year the Latina rapper has acquired tons of new followers, and collaborated with rap superstar Nicki Minaj.
Although the 30-year-old rapper’s hip hop career is climbing, it’s also the center of much discussion. Following BIA’s performance at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards many fans, or haters, criticized her for giving what they considered an “underwhelming” concert.
“Ok bia performance is underwhelming. That’s my joint,” someone tweeted.
Opinions of BIA’s BET Hip Hop Award show performance vary in harshness, but they all come to the same consensus. There were so many shading BIA’s performance, commenting on her stage presence and energy level, that rapper Coi Leray stepped in to defend her good sis.
“These bitches GOT NO HITS !!!! NOT 1 IDGAF DEAD CROWD LIT CROWD WE MAKE HITS WHILE THEY OUT HERE MAKING VIBES SMD ALL YALL HATERS.” Coi Leray tweeted.
Leray even hyped up BIA’s musical success.
“BIG BIA TO YOU LIL ASS WEAK ASS HOES!!! can’t wait until bia drop again and again and again cause it’s A HIT every time,” Leray tweeted. Leray inserting herself may be because she knows what it feels like for people to come for her live performances. Back in July of 2021 Coi Leray got the same criticism as BIA is getting now for her performance at Rolling Loud 2021.
Irrespective of all the feedback the Whole Lotta Money rapper got for her BET Hip Hop Awards performance, BIA has remained humbled and embraced the critiquing.
“One thing about me…I’m always gonna stay grateful, and perfect my craft. Thanks for the constructive criticism! I take it all in and come back harder next time,” BIA tweeted. If BIA keeps this attitude then it’s the sky’s the limit for her!
