City Girls unreleased song “Twerkulator” inspires a new dance challenge on TikTok. The twerk-inducing single was leaked last summer, however it’s doubling back as the new twerk anthem for the summer of 2021.
Almost every other week it seems there is a new TikTok dance routine to learn. Although there aren’t specific names for the dance moves found on TikTok, each new TikTok dance challenge seems to consist of similar choreography. One of the consistent TikTok dance moves is twerking, hence the popularity of “Twerkulator.”
Like many other TikTok dances, the #Twerkulator dance or #TwerkulatorDanceChallenge choreography matches exactly with the song lyrics, making the learning process much easier.
While many are taking part in doing the #Twerkulator routine—including rap star Rico Nasty— many are also wondering when City Girls will officially drop their song “Twerkulator.”
City Girls member Yung Miami implied that the song was shelved because the song they sampled wasn’t cleared. “Twerkulator” samples Afrika Bambaata’s and Soul Sonic’s “Planet Rock.”
“Twerkulator didn’t get cleared sorry guys,” Yung Miami tweeted. Although “Twerkulator” can’t be released right now, City Girls may still be working on getting the song out.
“Justice for twerkulator!!!!!!!!!!.” Yung Miami tweeted, insinuating that they want the song freed and available for the fans.
