As of Monday (March 22) Krispy Kreme will be rewarding those who have received a COVID-19 vaccination from either Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson with a free glazed doughnut for the rest of 2021!
All you have to do to get their delicious original glazed doughnut is present your vaccination card at any Krispy Kreme location. This offer will be valid anytime of day, and there is no purchase necessary.
According to NBC, “The company said the promotion was to show support for those who choose to get vaccinated.” Although some people may be on the fence about getting the vaccine, a free donut might incentivize unsure candidates to get COVID-19 vaccinated.
“And there’s a @krispykreme next to my office! Can’t wait to claim my free donut. Sweet #vaccinated incentive just gotta make sure to ride $PTON in the morn to burn off the calories,” one Twitter user said.
Not only is Krispy Kreme launching an initiative to encourage people to get COVID-19 vaccinated, but they’re also offering paid time off for their employees that get vaccinated.
“Krispy Kreme is offering up to four hours of paid time off each to help encourage and enable their COVID-19 vaccinations, furthering the safety of team members and guests,” according to Krispy Kreme press release. Besides Krispy Kreme, companies like Best Buy, Target and Trader Joe’s have also offered paid time off for their employees that get vaccinated.
Free doughnuts may be reason enough for many of us to get a vaccine, however for those who are still apprehensive about a COVID-19 vaccine—even when they’re is donuts involved—don’t worry. From March 24 until May 24 you can get a free medium coffee and additional free original glazed doughnut every Monday for Krispy Kreme’s Motivational Monday special. It seems like the new campaigns are a win-win for everyone!
