Finding the right shampoo for your hair can be challenging, especially when dealing with hair challenges, such as hair loss or thinning.
There can be certain ingredients that the user could be allergic to, or specific hair growth vitamins aren’t as healthy as they claim to be.
“Hair growth requires a compressive approach,” Trichologist Bridgette Hill told Cosmopolitan. Hill states that a certain approach and a good routine can help promote healthy hair growth.
According to Hill, despite having good shampoo, using shampoo alone won’t promote hair growth, but with the amount of ingredients in it, it can strengthen hair.
A group of dermatologists and trichologists came together to display which shampoos are highly recommended.
1. ISDIN Lambdapil Hair Density Shampoo
This particular shampoo helps soothe inflammation with ingredients niacinamide and zinc. And it’s perfect for doing a reset wash one to two times a month.
“Helps improve skin barrier function, which can potentially reduce inflammation that can lead to hair loss,” says Dermatologist Ife Rodney.
2. K18 Peptide Prep Detox Shampoo
This shampoo formula contains salicylic acid and charcoal for scalp exfoliation. Despite having robust lather, it has no sulfates. Leading to fuller hair without product buildup.
Beth Gillette, an editor from Cosmopolitan, says, “I started incorporating it into my routine once a week for the last six months, and I’ve experienced the fastest hair growth of my entire life. What was once a chin-length bob is now a grown-out lob, and while I’m annoyed about needing to make another haircut appointment, I’m thrilled with how healthy my hair feels.”
3. Neutrogena T/Sal Scalp Build-up Control Therapeutic Shampoo
This shampoo chemically exfoliates the scalp with salicylic acid. The shampoo is recommended for hair problems, such as dandruff and scalp acne.
“I use the shampoo once a week on my very oily roots to break down the product buildup, grease, and oil that could lead to an angry scalp. I don’t need much moisture in my hair, but I always tell my friends to pair this with an ultra-hydrating conditioner to avoid dryness,” said Gillette.
4. Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Shampoo
This particular shampoo uses castor oil to lock in the moisture in not only the scalp but hair as well, the ingredients are made to make the hair super soft and it’s ideal for curly hair.
“I just want to share my experience with this product with everyone. I completely recommend it to those having thinning hair. Don’t expect a quick result, but with the continued use, you will notice baby hair is growing. Just try it,” said one shopper.
