The sun is out, the weather is getting warmer, and Easter Sunday is fast approaching.
Easter is a time when family and friends get together to celebrate religion and traditions. Other than bunnies, one of the most notable items associated with Easter is the Easter egg.
From beautiful pastel colors to an assortment of flowers, here are some Easter decoration ideas to implement this spring.
10. Easter Place Setting
According to Martha Stewart, setting up tables with key items like Easter Eggs and bright colors like pink can liven up the mood. To go further into the table setup, add faces to the egg to give it some personality. Bright tulips and daffodils can also be added to the table set up.
“Almost nothing says spring and Easter more than an overflowing vase of bright, colorful daffodils and tulips. This arrangement works beautifully as a centerpiece,” said Stewart.
9. Hanging Eggs
Since eggs are a notable item for Easter, hanging eggs for the holiday can bring out color in the room.
“We ordered blown-out eggs with small holes on each end and got straight to the gun. Tint them in happy hues, hook ribbons onto the floral wire, and pull it through each egg and back to create a loop on top and a wispy tail beneath,” said Stewart.
Speaking of eggs, another idea is ribbon-tied eggs. To make them, cut a 20-inch length of 1/2 or 3/8-inch wide ribbon and lay it across a compartment in an empty egg carton. Wrapping a knot around them gives them a decorative edge. Another way is by hanging the eggs as ornaments.
8. Ribbon Flowers
Making papier-mache egg flowers gives off creativity, according to Stewart.
“Think outside the basket and nestle sweets into papier-mache egg boxes adorned with millinery-inspired flowers,” said Stewart.
7. Easter Basket Handles
When people think of Easter eggs, they think of baskets carrying these items. Items that are in Easter baskets can include cards, chocolate, toy bunnies, and eggs, of course. These baskets can be placed on tables or around the rooms.
“Everyday vessels can set a verdant Easter scene,” Stewart says.
6. Nested Egg Planters
For decorations to put outside, there’s the option of putting out plant bloomers.
“Place calm planters filled with your favorite spring bloomer. (we like hyacinths or Muscari), anywhere a seasonal vignette is needed,” says Stewart.
5. Bunny Bouquets
Speaking of more outside decoration ideas, a bunny planter with flowers in it can also be a creative Easter idea. Since Bunnies are considered a staple in the holiday, having it be a vessel with flowers can add color outside.
“A bunny planter that doubles as a flower arrangement vessel? Now that’s genius,” says Stewart.
4. Blue Nests
Much like Easter egg handles, blue Nests can also be a touch for Easter. Since eggs are the primary theme, having bird nests can also be an idea.
“To play up the beauty of neutral eggs, introduce a jewel tone. This gem of a best was fashioned from indigo-colored raffia,” says Stewart.
3. Candleholder
Some easter decoration ideas to put on the mantel can be wooden egg candleholders.
“Keep the decor on display long after the last chocolate bunny has been eaten as an homage to spring,” says Stewart.
2. Daffodil Candy Cups
Daffodils are among the most popular spring flowers. To add to the spring motif, food can be placed inside the flower cutout cups.
1. Crepe Paper Rose Basket
According to Stewart, adding Crepe-paper baskets can mimic the budding flowers. The basket can be in a vase and filled with eggs, flowers, and, of course, the golden bunny.
