Pamela Anderson is great in the kitchen. Her new cookbook, I LOVE YOU: Recipes From the Heart, is fresh off the press. It began as a gift to her two adult sons, Brandon and Dylan. The book, which will be released on October 15, went from being a simple gift to an entire book, featuring 80 recipes, from mason jar salad and lentil soup to cinnamon rolls and sourdough bread.
Anderson is a dedicated vegan, but says the book won’t alienate those who aren’t plant-based, “I also don’t judge other people for how they’re eating, and that’s why I didn’t really want this to be a typical vegan cookbook, so it gets pushed down to the vegan section of the cookbooks. I just kind of want it to be a celebration of my garden and vegetables. It just doesn’t leave anybody out that way.”
Anderson showed fans a softer, less “Hollywood” side of herself to fans in her reality show, Pamela’s Garden Of Eden. The show ran for 2 seasons and highlighted the process of renovating her grandparent’s Vancouver property, which scales several small buildings, serving as a boathouse, main home and guest house. Anderson’s expansive garden was one of the main focuses of the show, as she carefully guided contractors through its development.
The 90s icon is trying on a different side of herself in recent years. Once heavily made-up with bleached blonde hair, glossy lips and a burgeoning bust line, Anderson, 57, is living a fresh faced, hair-down lifestyle now as a natural beauty, showing fans there’s more to her than meets the eye. And it suits her. Fans on X, formerly Twitter, seem to enjoy and support this new look for her, saying, “Good for her. You reach an age where you don’t have to impress anyone. It’s nice to see her being true to herself.” And many more tweets echo this sentiment, “She looks way better without all that makeup.
Anderson uses her celebrity for a cause as well. Supportive of PETA and animals rights for over 25 years, her support gained much attention in the media’s eye. A groundbreaking campaign featuring Anderson topless with her back to the camera and the slogan “Give Fur The Cold Shoulder” cemented her commitment to the organization.
Anderson, a native to Canada, was discovered in 1989 at a football game after a camera man put her on the jumbo-tron. She naturally caught everyone’s attention, including Labatt’s Beer as she was wearing one of their logo t-shirts. They quickly hired her as their spokesperson and she was then discovered by Playboy‘s Hugh Hefner, who put her on the cover of the October issue of that year. She has set a record by appearing on the infamous magazine covers 13 times. Trying her hand at acting, Anderson gained even more fame as the “Tool Time Girl” on the sitcom Home Improvement. Soon, the beach would come calling, sending Anderson into pop culture history permanently as C.J. Parker on the hit series Baywatch.
Her love life gained just as much attention as she did herself, with the blonde beauty famously dating the best of the “bad boys” from Rick Salomon, Kid Rock and certainly her on and off again husband Tommy Lee of the 80s heavy metal band Motley Crew. A now-infamous sex tape featuring Lee and Anderson was stolen from their property and was put on the internet without permission. The company who had custody of the tape was sued by the couple, but they later dropped the case as Anderson was pregnant and was fearful of the stress she was enduring through the trial.
They were married for 4 years before divorcing in 1998 after Lee was arrested for spousal abuse. They attempted a second try at marriage in 2008, but broke up 2 years later.
