This winter is about to have us all crying our hearts out, LITERALLY. Within the last few days two of music’s most MIA artists have revealed that the time for them to release new music has finally come. Both Summer Walker and Adele have dropped mega announcements about their upcoming music projects that are soon dropping, respectively.
On Monday ( October 4), the second anniversary of Summer Walker’s critically acclaimed album Over It, Walker confirmed that the follow-up album Still Over It is coming November 5. The promo video, which featured JT from City Girls, was highly nostalgic since Walker replicated the outfit she wore on her 2019 Over It album cover in the Instagram video.
Just as fans were basking in the excitement of Summer Walker’s pending music project, Adele popped up, announcing that her new single Easy on Me was coming Oct. 15 on Instagram. Adele’s forthcoming single is from her fourth studio album, that will most likely be titled 30, which is coming this year. So far everything known about Adele’s fourth album is speculation, like her new album title and the release date being in mid-November, however an official confirmation from Adele may be imminent.
Both Monday (Oct 4) and today (Oct.5) have been a crucial moment for many fans since the two dynamic artists are truly beloved and appreciated musically. Adele’s 2015 album 25 which produced the chart-topping mega hit Hello and earned two Grammys, was the last music project we received from the singer-songwriter.
Since Summer Walker and Adele have both gone through things during their break from making music, you know each of their albums are about to have many bops. In 2020 Summer Walker and London on da Track ended their relationship, and in March of 2021 Adele and her husband divorced, which means both albums are bound to include heartbreak anthems.
What’s a good R&B or soul record without a few songs that speak to your heartache? Ms. Walker and Ms. Adele are both Queens when it comes to activating the heart strings and making you want to sing to their songs at the top of your lungs.
