Frank Ocean Is NOT Dropping A New Album, But He Has Dropped Homer

Frank Ocean

New music from Frank Ocean isn’t on the horizon any time soon, but a new luxury jewelry line from him is. Over the last few years Frank Ocean has been working on his jewelry company Homer, shifting his focus from music towards building a superb luxury brand.

Over the weekend Frank Ocean revealed his new brand Homer in an Instagram carousel post, further opening up about the purpose of Homer in a Instagram story that same weekend.

“Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all,” Ocean wrote in his IG story . “All of my work now is dedicated to my family. Everything. My hope is to make things that last, that are hard to destroy, set it in stone. I’m so fucking happy for everyone involved and I admire you and am proud of you and couldn’t have done it without you.”

Ocean additionally added, “Everybody who came to California when we had no lights and no water and no chairs or desks and built this all from nothing with me. I wanna say thank you for believing in my vision and taking a part in this story from the bottom of my heart. This is 3 years in the making and there is so so much I’m excited to share with all you strangers. Love.”

Making something beautiful of what is being tossed away, and shape-shifting stone into artistic representations of history is the quintessence of Homer. Hand-crafted 18K jewelry, recycling sterling silver, American lab-grown diamonds, hand-painted enamel printed and silk scarves are just some of what Homer has to offer, as noted by Pitchfork

Beyond just having quality products that are American and Italian made, Homer also infuses fantastical and whimsicalness into each design.

A press release notes that Homer designs are inspired by “childhood obsessions” and “heritage as a fantasy.” Even the company’s name Homer “represents carving history into stone,” according to the press release, spotlighting the intentionality of the Homer brand.

Since 2016, after the release of the Grammy winner’s last album Blonde, Frank Ocean lovers everywhere have been yearning for some type of creative release from the “Novacane” crooner. Throughout the last five years of Ocean’s hiatus from music the closest thing we’ve gotten to a new Frank Ocean single is when he periodically appears as a featured artist.

Despite there still being no new Frank Ocean music to add to our Spotify playlist, there is at least new Frank Ocean luxury jewelry. Those who are in New York, or can easily get there, can book their appointment and get their jewelry now since the Homer storefront in Manhattan is now opened. Of course that is only if there is any appointments left.
