Saweetie and Quavo are ending their relationship after being one of hip-hop’s favorite couples for the last three years. On Friday (March 19) Saweetie confronted the breakup rumors on Twitter, alluding that Quavo’s infidelity was the reason for their split.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women,” the “ICY GRL” rapper tweeted.
Although some fans are sad to see the couple end, Saweetie is completely content with her decision and ready for a new beginning without Migos lead rapper Quavo.
“I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation,” Saweetie tweeted.
Neither Saweetie or Quavo have given a concrete explanation for their unexpected split, however Quavo has provided some commentary on their breakup.
“I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best,” Quavo tweeted.
As the former couple throw lowkey shade at each other while explaining their breakup, fans insert their own theories about the reason behind the Saweetie and Quavo split.
Some fans speculate that Saweetie And Quavo’s breakup was because of the chemistry that Saweetie and her ex-boyfriend Justin Combs displayed while on Combs YouTube show “Respectfully Justin.”
“Bro. Once Saweetie did that interview wit Justin Combs (her ex) I knew her and Quavo had to have been done. My man won’t lemme do something like that,” one Twitter user said.
Another fan noted that the sexual questions that Justin Laboy was asking Saweetie and Combs on the show were inappropriate given the fact Saweetie was still with Quavo at the time.
“Okay so I’m watching the saweetie Justin laboy Justin combs interview… and if I was Quavo I’d be pissed too. It’s all sexual questions. And her ex is at the interview? Naahhh,” one Twitter user said.
