Billie Eilish Goes Blonde. Again.

Billie Eilish goes back to her roots, blonde roots. On Wednesday (March 17) Billie Eilish took to Instagram to debut her new shaggy blonde hair, a stark difference from the black and green ombré look she’s been wearing since 2019. 

This isn’t Billie Eilish’s first time sporting blonde—she had silver blonde hair back in 2016— however Billie Eilish wearing a platinum blonde 1970’s shag style is a first. Although the new look suits her, Billie Eilish’s hair change goes beyond just trying a new look. It marks the end of an era for Billie Eilish. 

“I’m changing [my hair] after the doc comes out. It will be the end of an era. I’m going to give you a new era,” Eilish said in Instagram Live prior to the release of her documentary “The World’s a Little Blurry.” Even though Billie Eilish is on the road to revamping herself, she still makes sure to include her fans along the way. 

Shortly before Billie Eilish did her big blonde reveal on Instagram she posted a TikTok video where she shifted her hair, exhibiting that her current tresses were a wig. Billie Eilish’s TikTok post not only confirmed the circulating rumors that she had been wearing a wig, but it also had people wondering what new hairstyle she was hiding. 

Alongside Eilish’s TikTok, Eilish’s hairstylist Lissa Renn posted and deleted a time-lapse video of herself lightening Eilish’s hair, confirming the rumors about Eilish hiding a new blonde hairdo. (The video can still be found on YouTube).

“The process is real when you’re doing it right. 6 weeks to get all the black out of her ends without damaging it, along with her following my strict haircare regime. We actually loved all the stages of lifting the color too but the end result is [insert fire emojis].” Renn captioned. 

Renn’s caption suggests that Billie Eilish’s journey to blonde most likely began sometime in early February. While many fans are excited for the new blonde Billie Eilish, Eilish’s hairstylist takes pride in being able to reimage Billie Eilish’s look.
