Rapper Megan Thee Stallion launches the Hotties Helping Houston Donation to help those affected by the Texas winter storm. The movement led by Houston native Megan Thee Stallion is in coalition with Texas U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson and NACC Disaster Services.
On Friday Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to post information about her new donation foundation, including the brands who are partnering with her to help advance her philanthropic efforts.
“It is always very important for me to help give back to the city that made me,” Meg Thee Stallion said in her Instagram caption. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who came together with me to help rebuild my hometown of Houston Texas.”
Brands working with Meg Thee Stallion to raise money and awareness for those greatly impacted by the Texas winter storm include Fashion Nova, Revlon, Coach and Mielle Organics. Alongside the popular consumer brands, Taraji P. Henson and Maroon 5 have also collaborated with Meg thee stallion for her charitable mission.
In addition to Megan Thee Stallion, Houston raised superstars Beyoncé and Travis Scott have also helped out fellow Texans.
According to NME, “Houston native Travis Scott also showed his hometown support recently, funding an emergency food program for residents without supplies. His Cactus Jack Foundation helped feed 50,000 residents suffering through the winter storm.”
Queen Bey launched a winter assistance program earlier this year.
According to Complex, “the singer’s BeyGood foundation announced it had teamed up with Adidas and Bread of Life, Inc. to help those affected by the deadly winter storm. The collaborative effort seeks to give up to $1,000 to individuals who have experienced financial hardships due to the disaster that has left countless Texans without food, power, or water.”
At a time where so many people are at a disadvantage, it is awesome to see celebrities extend their resources to help those that desperately need it.
