Ex-Disney Star Skai Jackson Is Arrested After Reported Fight With Boyfriend

The former Disney Channel child star found herself in handcuffs after an alleged altercation with her boyfriend.

Skai Jackson, who appeared in the hit Disney sitcom Jessie, was seen pushing her boyfriend multiple times while the two were at Universal CityWalk. Police arrested the 22-year-old after watching security tapes, charging her with misdemeanor domestic battery. They released her a few hours later, according to TMZ.

Amid the reported scuffle and arrest, Jackson and her boyfriend allegedly told officers that they were engaged and that she was expecting a child. The couple denied any fight. There is no word on the boyfriend’s identity or Jackson’s due date.

Jackson’s alleged behavior seems ironic since she filed a restraining order against rapper Bhad Bhabie for harassment in 2020 – a petition that was granted but later dropped by Jackson.

Jackson joins the long list of former Disney child stars who have had public run-ins with the law including Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Demi Lovato. Jackson reached fame after playing Zuri Ross on Jessie from 2011-2015 and reprised her role in the spinoff Bunk’d for the next three years. Jessie told the story of a young woman moving to New York to find herself as a nanny for a wealthy family and their four multi-cultural adopted children living in a penthouse.

The show’s success brought in young viewers, with ratings bringing in an average of 3 million viewers over the entirety of the series. The plot of Jessie was most likely influenced by the real-life story of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their family.

In addition to Disney’s success, Jackson has appeared in many national commercials for Pepsi, Old Navy, and Band-Aid as a child model. Later, she went on to provide voice work for many Nickelodeon preschool animated shows like Bubble Guppies and Dora The Explorer. Jackson also appeared on Dancing With The Stars for Season 29, performing alongside partner Alan Bersten, and was eventually eliminated in week 10 after they danced the Cha-Cha-Cha and the Viennese Waltz.
