Whataburger is a place known for burgers, of course. This popular fast-food restaurant specializes in the perfect burger, which is “so big you had to hold it with two hands,” originated out of Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950. A long way from their original burger stand.
Earlier this month, Whataburger debuted the Bacon Steakhouse Double Burger. It features two whole beef patties, two slices of aged cheddar cheese, three slices of bacon, and fried onion straws, topped with a delicious tangy steak sauce on a buttery toasted bun.
The experience was nothing less than a simple fast food experience. Although I did wait, some attributes made the burger worth it. There’s nothing faint about the redolence of the hearty beef patties and fried onion straws, which add the perfect crunch to your meal.
The bun was good, albeit a bit soft, lacking the toasted feel as advertised. The cheese, like the picture, melted in your mouth. As you wrapped your grippers around the steakhouse burger, you felt a bit of a cliche chain restaurant vibe, but the ingredients worked together as a slightly above-average rating.
Several things made the burger more appealing, such as a 5-inch big boy or a 4-inch junior. The price ranges from $6.99 for the junior and $9.99 for the big boy. Both sandwiches are wrapped in picture-perfect tan paper with their logo evenly spread around it. Let’s not stop there.
Whataburger’s new steak burger isn’t the only new menu item worth trying. Wing lovers will be happy to hear that the fast food chain will have boneless Whatawings for a limited time. The wings come in 5 flavors: buffalo, honey butter, honey BBQ, sweet and spicy, and plain.
Along with the burger that premiered this month, I also tried the Whatawings in the flavor Sweet and Spicy. The flavor’s aroma is from the wing heavens. It is the perfect combination of a honey bee’s goodness and – her fury in the most succulent way.
This combo is just in time for summer when those long summer nights run on and you need something quick and delicious. The famous burger spot is open 24/7, so you can enjoy your new favorite combination at any time, but only for a limited time. We don’t know how long The Bacon Steakhouse Burger and Whatawings are only here for, but enjoy it while you can.
