For the last few weeks west coast rap legend Ice Cube has been under scrutiny for meeting with the Trump administration to assist with the development of President Donald Trump’s Platinum Plan.
Ice Cube has stood by his justification for meeting with one of President Donald Trump’s senior advisors, insisting that he had presented his contract with Black America to both presidential campaigns, however the Trump administration acted first.
“I put out the CWBA. Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA,” Ice Cube tweeted on Oct.14.
Ice Cube continues to face backlash for aligning with the Trump campaign, however he maintains his position and explains his reasoning on an episode of “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace.
“We make up 13 percent of the country, and we’re only getting .5 percent of the wealth in the country,” Ice Cube told Wallace. “They listened, heard what I had to say, pumped up their plan and presented it to the people.”
As he persists with the narrative that the Biden campaign didn’t want to discuss the CWBA with him until after the election, House Representative Cedric Richmond —co-chair of Biden’s presidential campaign—has now contested Ice Cube’s claim.
“Let me be crystal clear. That did not happen,” Rep. Richmond said during an interview on the “The Joe Madison Show.” “I like the fact that Ice Cube is getting engaged in policy. I think that is a good thing, however, once you embark on getting into it…you have to be truthful, but…you have an obligation, I think, to see it through and to be thorough with it,” Rep. Richmond added.
Ice Cube has since responded, tweeting “Instead of going back and forth Congressman, please release the Zoom meeting so the world can see what was said by all.”
What do you think will be revealed on that Zoom call?
