Taco Bell Isn’t Just Adding Wings To Their Menu This Year

Taco Bell

Taco Bell and wings are two things that you probably thought would’ve never been mentioned in the same sentence. But of course in this twilight zone we call the 21st century ‘20’s time period, anything is possible.

Last Thursday (Jan. 6) TBell tweeted that their franchise would be selling actual fried chicken wings for a limited time.

“Taco Bell has always been your wingman, now let us be your Wing man,” TBell tweeted. Picturing the fast food Mexican restaurant branching out into the fried chicken arena, a far-cry from their traditional Hispanic-inspired entrées, emotes a level of uncertainty and suspiciousness.

“Why is Taco Bell serving chicken wings? Are the wings tasty? Are the wings really made of chicken? The “is it chicken?” question that jetted through my psyche when I heard that Taco Bell was offering wings is a prevalent inquiry that is circulating on social media.

“How Taco Bell get wings during a [wing] shortage [?],” someone tweeted.

A chicken shortage is happening, however that doesn’t mean chicken is such a rarity at fast food restaurants that any entrée requiring poultry is made with a chicken substitute. In fact some people on Twitter pinpointed that TBell’s wings have a high probability of being KFC wings since both companies share the same parent company. Yum! Brands owns both KFC and TBell.

Irrespective of whether or not you believe that Taco Bell’s wings are legitimate, the franchise has also added new menu items that won’t appear too far-fetched for their long-time customers.

“Along with the wings, Taco Bell is adding the Beefy Melt Burrito, the Fiesta Veggie Burrito, and the Cheddar Chalupa with meat or plant-based protein fillings on Jan. 23,” according to TheStreet.
